值此金秋佳时,2006年中爱信息与通信技术国际会议即将在美丽的杭州举行,在学校领导的关注和支持下,经大会筹委会上下共同努力,会议的各项准备工作正按计划顺利推进。本次会议得到IEEE MTT 北京分会、IEEE CAS 上海分会、中国电子学会电路与系统分会、微波分会、浙江省电子学会、爱尔兰RINCE、浙江省科技厅、国家自然科学基金等单位的支持,由杭州电子科技大学和都柏林城市大学共同承办。作为中国和爱尔兰两国文化交流和科学研究合作的重要一项固定内容,会议得到两边政府的大力支持,中国驻爱尔兰大使和爱尔兰驻中国上海总领事,都为本次大会写了贺信。祝贺本次会议取得圆满成功。

本次会议将聚焦在信息和通信领域的最新发展和动向,包括通信、信号处理、人工智能、电路和系统等专题。与会人员除了中国和爱尔兰方面大学和科技界的研究人员外,还包括美国,英国,日本,韩国,新加坡等多个国家的朋友,是一次学术交流与合作的盛会。会议共收录论文一百多篇,整个会议的论文集将由清华大学出版社单独出版。

会议召开恰逢杭州电子科技大学的50周年校庆,因此会议的举行必将极大的推动和活跃学校在校庆期间的学术氛围,为校庆做出自己贡献。近几年来,随着学校办学规模的扩大和办学层次的提高,杭州电子科技大学与境外大学的交流在广度与深度上都有了长足的拓展。多年来,我校与美国、德国、英国等国多所境外大学开展了学术交流及合作研究活动,其中与爱尔兰都柏林城市大学的合作与交流成效更为显著。本次会议就是在双方共同努力下举行的。我们相信,会议的顺利举行将极大的推进双方学术交流与合作的关系,为以后的进一步发展打下更为坚实的基础,构筑更为实用和高效的平台。

中爱信息与通信技术国际会议的技术议程包括相关领域专家的特邀发言和相关专题上的分会场讨论。主要的专题报告,包括在10月18日下午举行的生物医学技术专题和19日上午举行的纳米元器件建模技术专题,关注前沿技术,体现学科交叉,欢迎广大师生到时前去聆听,一起参与讨论,增加学校校庆气氛。

Workshop A:

First Workshop on Nano-Device Modeling Initiative

This workshop is the first one in a series of workshops for Nano-Device Modeling Initiative (NDMI). NDMI is a joint project to address the modeling issues for nanoscale CMOS and nanoelectronic devices. Currently, four countries/regions are involved: Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Mainland China. Even though, the main body of this initiative consists of universities, industry participation is an indispensable part of the effort.

The papers presented in this workshop include an invited talk from Synopsys, projecting the current efforts and future trend in compact models for 45-nm technology node and beyond. Two papers address the compact modeling for double-gate (DG) MOSFET from different points of view, reflecting the focus from academia (Tsinghua) and industry (AIST in Japan). Other talks include FinFET models for DRAM cells and MOSFET/SOI noise models for RF applications and circuit simulations. In addition to active device modeling, compact models and circuit analysis for RF spiral inductors and parasitic inductance for on-chip interconnects are also reflected in two papers.

Workshop B:

Workshop on Biological & Medical information technology

Biomedical informatics is an interdisciplinary research field of information technology and biological & medical sciences. Bioinformatics as one of the major branches has received a lot of attentions in past years, and a significant progress has been made. In this conference, we organize a workshop with a focus on biomedical informatics. Four speakers are invited to give presentations to introduce the latest development of the field and discuss the research direction. The first paper addresses the heart modeling and simulation, the second gives the survey of the medical imaging and its applications, the third discusses computer aided cancer detection & diagnosis, the final paper is on microelectronics-aided signal regeneration of injured nerves.
