The "Computer World Scholarship" awards for year 2006 were announced lately. Two HDU senior students Li Zhen and Wang Rongtao carried away the "Computer World Scholarship" for the year.

The "Computer World Scholarship" was set up by Computer World Media Group in 1989, with a view to encourage undergraduates in their computer and IT application research and development efforts, to foster more professionals with practical experience, and to promote the development of domestic IT industry.

After evaluation by specialists, total 81 students from 45 domestic institutions of higher learning received such honor in 2006. These students have shown their good innovative spirit and ability. Apart from two students from HDU, another scholarship-winning student in Zhejiang was from Zhejiang University.

The two students from HDU wining the scholarship are both excellent and hardworking students. They had carried away numerous prizes in international and national mathematical modeling as well as undergraduate computer programming competitions, winning favorable comment from evaluators.

For 6 years in a roll, HDU has seen two students winning the "Computer World Scholarship" each year.
