
The 2-month-long First National Undergraduate Simulated Financial Investment Contest (2006), with the theme of "Learning in Practice", closed shortly before the winter vacation. Total 240 teams from domestic colleges and universities attended the contest, including Beijing University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Renmin University of China, Central University of Finance & Economics and Shanghai University of Finance & Economics. HDU secured the third place in both overall rating and futures transaction. Student Zhao Li from HDU also won the third place in individual futures transaction.
Over 50 students in 3 groups were sent by HDU to the contest. They took part in simulated futures, stock and foreign exchange transactions. In simulated future transaction, student Zhao Li succeeded in increasing an initial fund of RMB 100,000 to a market value of over RMB 11,000,000, while in simulated stock transaction student Zhang Feng succeeded in increasing an initial fund of RMB 100,000 to a market of over RMB 1,300,000. As tutor and supervisor for contestants from HDU, Tian Sui and Zhou Zhenyun had worked hard to make this happen.
